The SEC West, the conference’s top conference, was one of college football’s biggest story lines last season, but that didn’t stop Auburn from posting the best record in the nation.
The Tigers were 13-1 with the highest winning percentage in the conference, and their 7-1 mark in SEC play was the best mark in the SEC since 2010.
The program is also ranked No. 1 in the AP poll for the second straight year, and that’s despite a number of injuries to key players.
The season also featured a number at the position, as four Tigers combined to have at least 50 tackles, and they were joined by fellow defensive linemen Jarrad Davis, Jalen Mills, and Jonathan Allen.
Auburn also had three players in double-digit tackles, including quarterback Darnell Mims and offensive lineman Aaron Hester.
The team had the best rushing defense in the country, and the team’s offensive line also had a number in double digits.
The offense was also a huge factor, with the Tigers ranking fourth in the league in scoring (31.6 points per game) and fifth in total offense (270.1 yards per game).
