Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen will face the Crimson Tide on Saturday as a redshirt freshman.

Mississippi State will host Alabama on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.

MT, according to the ESPN CFB blog.

Mullen led Mississippi State to a 27-23 victory over the Crimson and its first victory over Alabama since 2008.

He also guided the Bulldogs to a 23-19 win over Florida State last season.

This year’s squad is a big favorite to win the season series, with ESPN’s CFBC rankings showing Mississippi State at No. 3 and Alabama at No, 7.

The Bulldogs will play without senior quarterback Jake Rudock, who has been dealing with a back injury, and sophomore wide receiver Trey Burton, who is listed as questionable.

Rudock has yet to play this season, having missed the last three games with a broken foot.

Burton is expected to play.

Freshman running back Josh Hicks, a second-team All-SEC selection this season for the Bulldogs, is expected at least partly to play, according ESPN.
